The accident happened at Beltway 8 and South Post Oak around five this morning. The officer was responding to a call going through the intersection with her lights and siren on when a vehicle hit her.
That driver kept going, but stopped a few blocks away after the vehicle caught fire. The driver abandoned it and ran off.
The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
