It happened around 12:30pm at a home in the 20400 block of Shiloh Mist.
According to Sheriff Adrian Garcia, the deputy was shot and wounded, but is expected to survive.
Neighbors tell Eyewitness News a suspect fired at the deputy, who was serving papers at the residence on Shiloh Mist. The neighbors said the deputy was transported via ambulance.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear. No additional details have been released.
Representatives from HCSO Homicide Division, HCSO Internal Affairs Division and the Harris County District Attorney's Office are at the scene, as well as Sheriff Garcia.
