Woman's Hospital of Texas delivers 10,000th baby of 2012

HOUSTON

The Woman's Hospital of Texas passed 10,000 babies born there this year, the first time the hospital has done that in its 35-year history, when Becky and Chris Kiser of Houston welcomed daughter Moriah into the world early Friday morning.

Moriah was born a little after 1am, weighing seven pounds, six ounces. She's 20 ¼-inches long. And with her birth came the milestone.

"We have been tracking the birth of the 10,000th baby for a couple of months and can't believe it's our baby," Becky Kiser said in a press release issued by the hospital Friday night.

Moriah's sister, Karis, was also born at Woman's Hospital of Texas. The hospital boasts the second highest number of babies born at any hospital in Texas, and most in Houston.
