Woman accused of hitting deputy with vehicle in SE Houston

HOUSTON

Geraldine Hendricks Bazile is charged with both Theft and Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer. The charges stem from an incident in a parking lot at 500 Gulfgate Center back on November 11. Investigators say a loss prevention officer was trying to detain Bazile. A Precinct 6 deputy was in a squad car nearby and went to assist.

That's when Bazile allegedly put her vehicle in reverse, striking and knocking the deputy to the ground. Investigators say she then fled in a brown Toyota Corolla.

The deputy was transported to the hospital and later released.

Bazile was identified in a police lineup and was formally charged. She remains in custody in the Harris County Jail.
