Crime Stoppers scam co-conspirator gets prison

DALLAS, TX

U.S. District Judge David Godbey sentenced 38-year-old Malva R. Delley on Monday for her guilty plea last year to conspiracy to make a false statement to a financial institution.

Delley was part of a scam that brought her and former Crime Stoppers director Theodora Ross more than $250,000. Ross provided bogus tip information to Delley, who then presented the information to a bank.

The 52-year-old Ross was sentenced last week to nearly four years in prison after pleading guilty to income tax evasion and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Both Ross and Delley must pay $212,291 in restitution.
