Houston man pleads guilty to bank robbery

HOUSTON

A federal judge in Houston on Monday accepted the plea from 27-year-old Kyle Lee Puglisi. The Houston man faces up to 20 years in prison and remains in custody pending sentencing in February.

Puglisi was indicted over five holdups between July and September. He pleaded guilty to a July 2 armed robbery of First Convenience Bank in Houston. Investigators say Puglisi put items in a cart and appeared to be shopping before demanding money.

Evidence from the scene helped identify Puglisi, who was arrested Sept. 19 while allegedly trying to rob a credit union in Spring. A pellet gun and cash were recovered.
