The City of Houston has proved the 2010 census left out a few hundred residents when calculating the bayou city's population.

The city won its appeal of the census numbers, which showed Houston's population just below 2.1 million. After reviewing documentation, the Census Bureau agreed to revise the final count.

The city council had already created two new council districts, based on estimates that the population was above 2.1 million.
