USAF instructor faces hearing for trainee relationships

SAN ANTONIO, TX

An Air Force statement says Staff Sgt. Christopher Jackson is accused of having "unprofessional relationships" with two trainees at Lackland Air Force Base. He's also accused of obstructing justice.

He's scheduled for an Article 32 hearing at Lackland on Thursday. That's the military equivalent of a civilian grand jury session.

Investigators say more than 40 women at Lackland in the past year had inappropriate contact with instructors or were sexually harassed or raped. Five instructors have been convicted since July. Nearly a dozen others have been under investigation.
