Ft. Bend Co. DA investigator accused of sexual assault of child

HOUSTON

Ft. Bend Co. DA Investigator Larry Linley is in the Matagorda County Jail on four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Linley is being held on $400,000 bond -- $100,000 per charge.

What we know about the crimes so far is that the victim told investigators that Linley assaulted her in 2001 and 2002 when she was about 11 years old, that he touched her inappropriately and made her watch pornographic videos and forced her to perform sex acts.

We're told she first told her mother about the alleged sexual assaults earlier this year.

Fort Bend County DA John Healey told us Linley is on paid leave, pending an internal investigation.

"Very soon I'll be provided with information from Matagorda County DA's Office," Healey said. "I've been told I will be provided with some information and I think based upon that information it will be clear what I need to do in this case."

Linley's wife didn't answer at their Bay City home Tuesday night. Neighbors said they had already left for the holiday, leaving him to sit in jail alone.

Linley has worked for the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office for 11 years. The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office told us Linley had worked for them twice in the past and that both times he had passed a background check.

Authorities say they don't have any reason to believe the allegations have affected any cases he has worked.

We're told we should know as early as Wednesday whether he'll be allowed to keep his job.
