It happened just after 11pm in the 19900 block of Park Row in west Harris County.
According to investigators, the victim was speeding westbound in the in the inside lane on a 2002 Yamaha R6.
A Jeep Grand Cherokee pulled out of the Wal-Mart parking lot in front of the motorcycle. The victim drove across the westbound lanes and hit a curb on the outside of the roadway, then struck a utility pole.
Officials said the motorcyclist was dead by the time they arrived at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation and the victim's identity was not released.
