When Ehredt gets here, he will have run a total of 2,140 miles, which is the equivalent of 26 miles a day for 81 consecutive days.
At each mile of his journey, Ehredt plants a small American flag on the ground inscribed with the name, age, rank and hometown of a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan.
You can take part in Ehredt's amazing run. As he nears the beaches of Galveston on Sunday, the public will be able to run alongside him as he crosses the Galveston Causeway Bridge up until the last mile, which he'll run alone.
This is part 2 of Ehredt's 'Project America Run.' Part one was in 2010, when Ehredt ran 4,400 miles to honor those who died in Iraq.
For anyone who wishes to run with Ehredt for part of his journey, meet at Fit TRI Run at 518 23rd Street in Galveston by noon on Sunday, November 11. Ehredt will run by Fit TRI Run at approximately 12:15pm. A public celebration at the Stewart Beach Pavillion will begin at 1:30pm.
