Katy ISD says the threat was discovered in a restroom at Beckendorff Junior High school. The district would not give any more specifics on the threat.
Students were evacuated to a practice field adjacent to a parking lot as a precaution. After the building was determined to be safe by Katy ISD police, the students returned to class with an amended schedule.
A note sent home to parents regarding the incident read in part: "The safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority... We will continue to investigate the situation to determine the origin of the message. Anyone with information that will help in the investigation should contact the Katy ISD police or campus administration."
