Astros debut new uniforms, mascot launch party at Minute Maid Park

HOUSTON

More than 5,000 fans were estimaged to be in attendance to see the unveiling of the new logo, cap, uniforms and mascot.

Astros owner Jim Crane and new manager Bo Porter addressed the crowd before numerous players walked through the crowd and onto a stage on the field. Donning the new look were Astros players Jose Altuve, Justin Maxiell, Lucas Harrell, Jordan Lyles, as well as minor leaguers Carlos Correa, Jarred Cosart, Jon Singleton and George Springer.

The new look is a nod to earlier Astros designs with navy and orange and the block letter 'H' over a star.

In another throwback, fans met the new team mascot, Orbit, the same name as the old mascot, but with an updated look.

In the last week, fans already got an unexpected sneak peak when Academy stores accidentally put some of the new items on their sales floor last week.
