San Antonio hospital decides not to hire smokers

SAN ANTONIO, TX

Baptist Health is denying employment to people who smoke. The policy went into effect about three months ago but exempts current employees. And prospective applicants thinking about lying will need another idea since the hospital plans to test job candidates for nicotine.

At least 29 states and D.C. have statues that ban employment discrimination against smokers but texas is one of the 21 states that does not.
