The homes are in subdivisions near Kirkmont, just south of South Sam Houston Parkway East.
A lot of people we spoke to say the criminal activity is unsettling.
According to the Harris County Precinct 2 Constable's Office, about 10 houses in Kirkmont have been targeted in the last week.
In almost all cases, victims told deputies the burglars knocked on the front door or rang the doorbell to see if anyone was home. If they don't get a response, they kick in the front door and enter, officials say.
Witnesses don't have a good description of the thieves, but they could be driving a gold, tan or white getaway car.
Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to call the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
