A mistrial was declared in the January official oppression trial of former Fort Worth deputy city marshals William E. Fox Jr. and George "Tom" Wood.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports a judge on Monday convicted Fox and Wood of misdemeanor official oppression and put each on a year of probation. The men face 90-day jail terms if they violate probation.
Fox and Wood were fired following the 2010 incident involving collector Anthony Brown.
Brown, who said the large shed antlers were worthy of trophy status, filed a complaint about the deputies who admired the antlers before taking them.
