Long-missing Colo. Marine buried with full honors

DENVER, CO

Pfc. James Jacques will be buried Tuesday at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.

Jacques was on a helicopter that crashed during the rescue of the cargo ship Mayaguez crew in 1975. Of the 26 people aboard the helicopter, 13 were rescued and the other 13 were declared missing, including Jacques.

Cambodia's Khmer Rouge had seized the Mayaguez and its crew days earlier.

The Defense Department told Jacques' family in August it had identified his remains with newly developed DNA testing.

Jacques grew up in La Junta in southeastern Colorado. He was 18 when he died.
