According to the Galveston Daily News, the girl was waiting near the wave pool when she felt her hand being suctioned into the wall's vent. The girl started yelling and once her hand was removed, she had lost part of her thumb down to the knuckle.
The lawsuit accuses the waterpark of negligence and seeks unspecified damages to cover medical expenses along with pain and suffering.
A Schlitterbahn spokesman did not comment on the allegation, but says safety is a top priority for the waterpark.
