Live at Five anchor Melanie Lawson emceed the announcement of ABC-13 Women of Distinction, presented by Mercedes-Benz. It recognizes 11 philanthropic women who have helped raise millions of dollars for Houston area charities.
The Women of Distinction will be honored in January at the Winter Ball, which raises money to fund research for a cure to Crohn's and ulcerative colitis.
