It happened along the section of the freeway near FM 1960 in north Harris County.
Deputies say a man and woman staying at a motel decided to cross the freeway on foot so they could get to a motel on the other side. The man made it across but the woman did not.
The driver who hit her was also injured and taken to the hospital. That driver is not expected to face charges.
