LSU campus back open after bomb threat

BATON ROUGE, LA

LSU officials said in a statement late Monday that "all campus buildings have been returned to normal operations and the campus is now open for students, faculty and staff."

Monday night, the thousands of students who live on the LSU campus were being allowed to return to their dormitories after bomb-sniffing dogs and police methodically swept residential halls following the threat.

Authorities conferred with counterparts in Texas, North Dakota and Ohio, where similar threats were received Friday. But officials say they're not sure if the Monday phone call was connected. Police found no explosives at LSU or the other campuses.
