Police searching for Kingwood home intruder

HOUSTON

It happened in a subdivision off of Kingwood Drive near the Eastex Freeway.

That woman says she hasn't slept since this happened. We promised not to identify her or her home because she is scared this intruder will come back.

According to police, somebody entered her home around 5:40am Thursday. The mother told me she was just waking up when she heard somebody in the bathroom. She thought it was one of her kids getting ready for school but it turns out, somebody had come in through her bathroom window.

"I just said, Who is in the bathroom?' thinking it was going to be one of my kids. Then a male voice answered and said, 'Shut up. I have a gun and I'll use it,' and then I didn't say anything else," the victim said. "My kids were in the house. I went to see if they were OK. It was just terrifying."

She called 911, but by the time police got there, he was gone, and the screen window was propped against the side of the house. She never even saw the man. She says he got away with a box of jewelry that was in the bathroom.

Police are now looking for him. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
