Operator fired over slaying victim's 911 call

DALLAS, TX

A police statement Wednesday says Police Chief David Brown fired Angelia Herod-Graham after investigators determined she didn't log information from Deanna Cook's family when they reported her missing Aug. 19.

The family then went to Cook's home, forced their way in and found her body.

Brown suspended Tonyita Hopkins for 10 days and ordered her reassigned after investigators determined she didn't log critical information from an Aug. 17 call from Cook, where she reported she was being attacked.

Both can appeal. A number listed for Herod-Graham was reported as disconnected. Hopkins didn't return a message seeking comment.
