Police: Body found in NE Houston is missing woman

HOUSTON

Authorities say they have a person of interest in custody. That person is being held on other charges.

No charges have been filed so far in the death of Scott. Police say the case is basically on hold for now until the medical examiner releases her cause of death.

Scott was a devoted mother of six and proud grandmother of 18 and a good neighbor. That is why her death is so disturbing to those who knew her.

Scott vanished last Thursday around 6pm when witnesses say she was forcibly removed from her home by a man she knew. She was not seen again until Monday when Texas EquuSearch volunteers found her nude body in a vacant lot just down the street from her house.

Friends say they are angry that someone could do this to such a kind woman.

"She was a sweet neighbor. She would cook anything and anything she had she would give it to you," said Scott's friend, Angela Wilson. "She will be very missed."

Police say they are not looking for any suspects in this case. They expect to tell us more once the medical examiner releases her cause of death.
