The HISD school cafeteria is undergoing some changes. The federal government has imposed new guidelines for healthier breakfasts and lunches.

The changes include new calorie and sodium limits and bans on trans fats and flavored whole milk.

HISD says it's updating its menu to include more whole grains, fruits, vegetables and fruit juices with no sugar added. There will also be fewer desserts.

The changes will not impact the cost of the meals.
