Woman struggles with purse thief during robbery

HOUSTON

At around 2:30am on July 18, police say a female victim stopped at the gas station located near the 10800 block of the Eastex Freeway in north Harris County. After entering the storefront, the victim noticed a female suspect entering her vehicle, attempting to steal her purse.

According to police, the victim immediately ran to her car to confront the suspect and a struggle ensued over the purse. The female suspect threw the victim to the ground, and was able to flee the area. Investigators report that the victim suffered approximately $800 in loss as a result of the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white female, approximately 20-25 years of age, weighing approximately 145 lbs, and around 5 foot 5. She has short brown hair that was in a ponytail at the time of the offense. During the incident, the suspect wore a gray tank top and multi-colored shorts. Witnesses report that the suspect has a tattoo on her upper right arm.

Surveillance cameras captured the struggle during the robbery.
