Police on Tuesday did not immediately respond to a message about whether charges have been filed.
Police say the man was waiting in line to check out Monday night when he reached for his wallet and the gun fell and went off. Authorities say the man suffered a minor leg wound, while a woman and at least one child were struck by debris from the ricocheting bullet.
Police chased and caught the fleeing man. Authorities say he has a concealed handgun permit.
