The 16-year-old is a juvenile and has not been identified, but she and another man, Zein Ahmed, are both charged with murder in the stabbing death of 48-year-old Mary Ann Murphy. Both the girl and Ahmed are currently in custody.
Sheriff's deputies say at around 1am Monday, they responded to a 911 call in the 8300 block of Poplar Ridge Lane in north Harris County. Upon arrival deputies say they found Murphy dead from multiple stab wounds.
Deputies spoke with Murphy's 16-year-old daughter, who stated she and her mom were home in bed when two unidentified men forced entry into their home and attacked Murphy. She says she was not injured during the attack and the suspects fled the residence on foot after the assault.
Ahmed, 20, is currently in the Harris County Jail with a $100,000 bond, and the 16-year-old daughter is currently in the custody of the Harris County Juvenile Probation Office.
