Janitors and their supporters organized a children's march near the Galleria Saturday afternoon. The kids also made postcards for the owners of the buildings where the janitors work.
The janitors have been holding strikes and protests for the past three months as they try to negotiate better pay and benefits in their next labor contract.
Ruth Randall isn't a janitor, but she went to Saturday's protest to support their cause.
"When you have a low income, you can't pay your bills and stuff," she said. "You can't have time with your family and do what you need to do. And the janitors need to have more money to be able to support their kids and their families."
Employers have said the janitors' request to reach ten dollars an hour in the next three years is unrealistically high.
