Around midnight, a patrol officer spotted the truck parked outside a home authorities believe is part of the drug trade. Police tried to pull over the driver of the truck as he left, but he sped off.
The chase went down Market to North Wayside. Police put down spike strips before the driver could get on the Loop.
The truck's front tires blew out, but he kept going. The driver crashed into a ditch on Fields and was arrested.
Police say the driver works as a mechanic for the Houston Fire Department.
