Police found the man in critical condition in a neighborhood in Channelview around 6:30pm. He was transported to a hospital, where he died.
Homicide detectives say it appears he was shot several times. They believe he was being chased when the suspect pulled out a gun and fired. It appears the two knew each other.
"At this point, we don't know what the motive is," said Sgt. Robert Spurgeon with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. "Apparently, there is some sort of bad blood between the two. We're still working on the investigation to figure out who all the actors are in this case."
Authorities are still looking for the gunman. They only describe him as an 18- or 19-year-old Hispanic male with a thin build, short hair and a light mustache.
