Carlos Antonio Velasquez, of Breckenridge, Texas, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under 17 years of age. Court documents state the 14-year-old girl met Velasquez after she called his phone number thinking he was one of her friends. She said they communicated over time, eventually agreeing to meet face-to-face at a hotel back on February 29.
The girl told investigators Velasquez picked her up from a gas station near her school and drover her to the hotel, where she says he sexually assaulted her.
According to court documents, a hotel registration receipt showed that Velasquez purchased a room on that date.
Investigators say the victim picked Velasquez out of a photo lineup.
