HCSO: Sex assault suspect met victim online

HOUSTON

Corran Eron Crosby, 28, is charged with sexual assault. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the alleged assault happened February 11 at Crosby's apartment in Harris County.

According to court documents, Crosby met his victim through a computer chat line. They talked and finally decided to meet at Crosby's apartment, records state.

The woman told investigators they talked for a while and then started drinking alcohol. She went outside to get cigarettes from her car and then came back inside and took several more shots before she blacked out, deputies said.

Court documents state when she regained consciousness, Crosby was on top of her, choking her. She tried to push him off, but couldn't, she told deputies.

Authorities said Crosby got up and went to the restroom. That's when the woman ran out of the apartment naked. She got into the vehicle of a female passer-by and called police.

Records show that a DNA test linked Crosby to the victim. He appeared before a judge on Monday where bond was denied. He remained in jail Friday and is expected back in court on August 3.
