Astros trade Carlos Lee to Miami Marlins

HOUSTON

Last week Lee declined a trade to the Dodgers, but accepted the deal to play out the rest of his season in Miami. For the 36-year-old first baseman, the Astros are getting minor league third baseman Matt Dominguez and left handed pitcher Rob Rassmussen.

It's not known yet if Miami is picking up any of the $9 million left on Lee's contract. Lee is making about $110,000 a game.

The Astros will bring up Brett Wallace from Oklahoma City to play first the rest of the year. Wallace has been playing well in AAA.

Look for the Astros to try to deal Wandy Rodriguez and Brett Myers before the July 31 trade deadline.

By the way the Astros lost their seventh straight Wednesday losing to the Pirates 6-4.
