Police say the mother was dropping off her daughter at a complex on South Shaver and left her 3-year-old son in the SUV. That's when a thief took the vehicle.
A short time later, the boy and the stolen SUV were found at a nearby apartment complex.
Right now, the District Attorney's office is not pressing any charges against the mother.
The suspect is still on the loose.
