A judge in Waco accepted the revised plea deal for Jeremy Lee Lowrey of Itasca.
Authorities say Lowrey's ex-girlfriend in October 2008 awoke to find him in her bedroom and she screamed. The ex-girlfriend was staying with her mother, Rebecca Leonard.
Leonard and her boyfriend, Jerry Patterson, rushed to help and were stabbed. Patterson survived and identified Lowrey.
Lowrey on June 15 pleaded guilty to capital murder and attempted capital murder. On Thursday he changed his capital murder plea to murder, on a recommendation from prosecutors and consent from Leonard's family.
His two life prison terms will be served concurrently. He'll be eligible for parole in 30 years.
