Highway 59 northbound lanes reopen at 610 West Loop after wreck cleanup

HOUSTON

All northbound lanes of the Southwest Freeway are reopening at the 610 West Loop after cleanup of an accident. We're told that at around 2:40pm Friday, an 18-wheeler appeared to have hit part of the freeway wall of the HOV lanes near Newcastle Dr. Several other autos involved.

The heavy truck lost some fuel had to be cleaned from the roadway before the lanes were reopened at around 5:15pm.

Motorists were being detoured to the West Loop or being urged to find an alernate route. The wreck had also closed both southbound and northbound ramps from the 610 West Loop to northbound Highway 59.

There were no reports of any injuries.
