A group of teenagers have been arrested and accused of committing a heartbreaking crime -- trashing an elderly widow's home.

It happened Thursday afternoon in the River Plantation subdivision south of Conroe. Authorities got a call about a burglary and when they arrived, they found four juveniles leaving the home. Authorities were shocked at what they found inside. The home had been completely ransacked with windows and ceramics smashed, personal items thrown everywhere, and holes punched in walls.

The victim is an elderly woman who lost her husband just a few months ago. She was not home at the time. She was staying at a friend's home, while she recovers from a pelvic fracture.

All of the teenagers are being handled through the juvenile courts.
