"Illegal" was created in just five weeks. Houston philanthropist Curry Glassell paid for the entire project. Four former and current college students shared their stories about growing up in the U.S. as undocumented immigrants.
The team behind "Illegal" says they hope the film will help educate the public.
"We asked these kids to come forward and tell their stories because these kids are becoming scientists, mathematicians," said producer Diana Espitia. "They're everyday people. They're not committing crimes."
The film launches at midnight on the site IllegalMovie.org.
