METRO Police investigators arrested Carrier Wednesday afternoon on outstanding warrants. The reported assault occurred on board bus route #2 in the 7600 block of Bellaire, at about 1am Wednesday.
The district attorney's office has filed charges of sexual assault. METRO officials say the arrest occurred as a result of a coordinated effort between MPD investigators and operators. The bus was equipped with cameras. They are not releasing any other details about the case at this time, citing an ongoing investigation.
METRO officials say they will be stepping up police presence in the area with both uniformed and plainclothes officers. Patrons are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings, and if they experience or witness any suspicious activity to alert authorities.
