Prince George's County police Cpl. Rodney Gause says an 8-year-old child died. The injured children, ranging in age from 18 months to 11 years old, were taken to Children's National Medical Center in Washington with critical injuries.
Authorities say the accident happened around 8:45 p.m. Thursday. The driver is the mother of at least one of the children.
Police were trying to determine how the accident happened.
