An Oklahoma City man accused of taking part in San Antonio's most expensive jewelry robbery has pleaded innocent to charges.

Johnny Lewan Kirk entered his plea Monday to three federal charges related to the March 2010 robbery of $2.3 million worth of jewelry from a store at a San Antonio mall.

The 43-year-old Kirk joins 45-year-old accomplice Marvin Donald Steele, also from Oklahoma City, awaiting trial.

The San Antonio Express-News reports ( about half of the loot has been recovered.

Police got a break when some of the items showed up at pawnshops in Oklahoma City. A jeweler checked a serial number on a Rolex watch and it matched a stolen item from San Antonio. That led to an FBI raid that recovered a number of other stolen pieces.
