A man faces charges for allegedly impersonating a Houston police officer during a tirade at a check cashing store.

On May 10, investigators say Gary Slayton, 44, was stopped from making a withdrawal at an Ace Cash Express at 11401 North Freeway because he didn't have the proper paperwork. Witnesses say he became irate and demanded the employee finish the transaction because he was a lieutenant with HPD.

The employee hit the panic alarm and officers arrested Slayton. Houston police say Slayton is not employed by HPD.
