Man charged with kidnapping 2 brothers appears in court

HOUSTON

Tony Guzman appeared in probable cause court overnight and we have reaction to his arrest.

A search team scoured the entire neighborhood near the boys' home on Timbercrest Village in north Harris County for more than 24 hours this past weekend looking for two boys. Now the man who lead investigators to those two boys is in jail.

Guzman, 24, was denied bond in a court appearance Wednesday. He's charged with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of child pornography.

Investigators say Guzman drove the boys --ages 13 and 7 -- seven miles away to Montgomery County. They were found safe the next day. He allegedly told police that the two boys were trying to run away from home and that he was trying to help them.

According to investigators, they later found child pornography of other children on Guzman's cell phone.

A family friend told us that Guzman hung out with neighborhood kids all the time, which is something parents weren't happy about.

"He's always around the young boys and girls in the neighborhood. Apparently he buys them beers. I think the kids enjoy being around him," said Christine Harrison.

Guzman is expected back in court on Thursday morning.
