For decades, OTC has been a popular event for those in the offshore drilling business. They will look at the latest technology.
Longtime attendees say they like what they're seeing.
"It's a lot more vibrant now," said Peter Richards with GL Noble Denton. "I think the research we have done the past 12 months illustrated there's a higher confidence in the industry and I think it we certainly see that now."
The conference will bring between $70 and $80 million to Houston's economy.
