The shooting happened at a home on San Fernando Drive at Elkins in north Houston at about 9pm Sunday. Police say victim and his family members returned home and were confronted in their driveway by an unknown male suspect. At some point during the robbery, the victim was shot several times near his vehicle. The suspect then fled in a white car.
The 26-year-old victim died at the scene. His identity has not been released.
The suspect is described only as a tall, stocky black male in his 20s or 30s. He was wearing a gray stocking cap. It's unknown if he got away with anything.
