Officials: Man killed wife's friend, turned gun on himself

HOUSTON

According to the Harris County Sherrif's Office, the husband and wife were arguing after they returned from a club to their home on Grampin.

Officials said the woman called her friend for help. When he arrived, the two men got into a fight.

The woman's friend ran away, but investigators said her husband ran down the street after him.

The husband chased him for two blocks, shooting randomly.

The friend was hit by a bullet on Clan Macintosh Drive around 5am. That's when the shooter turned the gun on himself, officials said.

Investigators said the woman's friend died at the scene. Her husband was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

The victim had a 17-year-old friend with him. He was reportedly hit in the head with the gun used to shoot the victim. The teen was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

No names have been released. We are told the husband and wife were going through a divorce.

Authorities said no one else was injured, but neighbors were terrified after the incident. Flying bullets struck several nearby homes and cars.
