A pilot program that calls for machines to check IDs and boarding passes will start today at Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Usually humans handle that part of airport security, but the TSA is testing out a new scanning system. The machines can recognize all valid ID, ranging from driver's licenses to passports.

The TSA hopes the scanners will make the checking-in process more efficient.

The review of the program is expected to last several months.
