Deputies told the Texarkana Gazette that the grill weighed at least 200 pounds.
The Bowie County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened Sunday afternoon outside a residence near Maud. The boy was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The child's name was not immediately released Monday.
Maud is about 15 miles southwest of Texarkana.
