According to court documents, on March 13 a man got a call from his ex-wife, Sarai Castoire, saying that she had left the couple's 13-year-old son home alone. The man, who was out of state driving a truck at the time, told authorities that Castoire said she had left the state and wasn't returning. The boy had reportedly been alone for two days at the time his father was called.
The father said he called another family member to pick up and care for the teen until he could return to town when his trucking run was completed.
The boy told authorities that his mother told him she was going to an interview and she never came home.
Castoire, 47, has been charged with abandoning a child. Bail has been set at $5,000 in the case.
Castoire contacted ABC13 Eyewitness News and denies the allegations.
